After you discovered Harry Potter (I just wrote Happy there for a second...*slaps self*) how long did it take before you began writing fan fic?
I am in love with Gambit and Rogue from X-men, and I didn't know that Fan-fiction existed until probably 1999 while browsing some pics of them on the net. It took me another year to start writing a bit of fan-fiction, but I only ever wrote a few. I find that I like to create my own characters in stories because I love character development, but I also find that the best stories to experience are those written in first-person. For me anyway, they really tune into the senses and allow the reader to experience firsthand everything you as the author put down.
But yes, my question, how long did it take you to start writing fan-fic, and what encouraged you to write smut?
