Title Just Another Routine Mission
Fandom Stargate: SG1

Summary It's just another routine mission. By SG1 standards.
Notes This is really just a stupid little pointless scene that popped into my head. Nothin' special here.
"Well, this is a fine kettle of fish," Jack commented as he and the rest of SG1 were led along a narrow path through a dense forest.
"I said I was sorry Jack," Daniel muttered.
"Yea well, sorry isn't going to get Skippy there to let us go now, is it?" he asked, nodding his head towards the the native that was leading them, presumably, towards the village where they'd face punishment for trespassing on their sacred land.
"It might," Daniel said hopefully.
"Hey, watch where you're sticking that thing," Carter muttered as another one of the natives jabbed his spear into her side again. She knew it wouldn't injure her, but she was pretty sure she was going to bruise if he kept the treatment up. The native in question grunted something she didn't understand and jabbed her again for good measure. The group continued on in silence for a long moment until they came to the village and were greeted by the site of a large pot boiling away happily on an open fire.
"Daniel," Jack said casually as they pulled away from each other and surrounded.
"Jack?" Daniel replied as he eyed the natives warily.
"Any indication that they might be cannibals?" Daniel didn't answer for a long moment and it was all Jack could do not to swear at him. "You have exactly 30 seconds to talk us out of this before I let Teal'c do his thing."
"Jack. . . "
"28 seconds Daniel!" Sam, Jack and Teal'c all listened as Daniel began quickly trying to talk their way out of the situation. When that failed, O'Neill gave a quick nod in the Jaffa's direction. He quickly dispatched his guards and enough of the others to throw the encampment into chaos. SG1 quickly took the opportunity to turn and run, racing down the path away from the encampment and towards the stargate. "Routine mission my Aunt Fanny!" Jack complained as they tore through the forest.
"It should have been!" Daniel shot back
"Less talk, more running!" Sam called after glancing back over her shoulder to see the natives on their heels. Teal'c turned and let go a slew of bullets, pointing the P-90 towards the ground. The natives were not deterred.
"Daniel!" Jack called as they neared the clearing. The archeologist weaved around the Colonel and came to a stop in front of the DHD. He dialed quickly and Carter sent the IDC through. Within moments the four had piled through the gate and ordered the iris shut before collapsing at the end of the end of the ramp.
General Hammond came down from the control room to check on the four who were seated at the bottom of the ramp, all trying to catch their breaths.
"What happened out there Colonel?"
"Oh you know, just another routine mission, Sir," Jack said as he, Sam and Teal'c all sent Daniel a look.
