HALP KIDS!
What I remember: John had to go back to Earth for his father's funeral and took Elizabeth with him. They're having a conversation afterwards about John's brother and how he didn't approve of John and Elizabeth, or the small boy the had adopted while in the Pegasus galaxy. In fact, I remember a line as "And he kept asking if ______ was really mine and did I have proof? And how he wasn't going to be put int he will until Dave saw proof."
Or something like that.
Help?
FOUND IT!
"It didn't go well, I take it?" Elizabeth asked as John stormed into the bedroom.
"Oh, it went swimmingly," John said sarcastically as he took his jacket off and tossed it onto a chair in the room. "He enjoyed a scotch while I got to listen to him insult you and me and Noah and my job and ever choice I've made for the last 5 years before he got a phone call and kicked me out."
"I'm sorry." she said, slipping out of bed and coming over to him, wrapping her arms around him.
"And he LOVED going after Noah, talking about how he's not mine and I would have to prove it if I wanted him in the family will and he topped it off with a few jabs about how he thinks we got Noah."
"Does it matter how we got him?" she asked quietly. They had found the boy tucked away in the trunk of a rotten out tree on a world that had just been culled by the Wraith. He had been the only survivor and had latched himself onto John, refusing to let go. When he realized that Elizabeth was the only person who could speak and understand his language, he'd latched onto her as well. Somewhere along the way, they'd ended up together.
"Of course not!" he said firmly. "He's my kid and I love him, that's all that matters."
"Then what does it matter?" John paused for a moment and thought about what Elizabeth had said.
"He's my brother. he should have just congratulated me and asked when he'd get to meet the two of you, not all that other shit."
"I'm sorry," she said, pressing herself tighter to his back.
"Yeah," he said after a while. "So am I."
