jacyevans: Post a list of your top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.
1. 5 Times John Wrote a Will Stargate: Atlantis. I love this fic first and foremost because it's a 5 Things fic, I have a thing for 5 Things fic. I also love how easy it was to write and how it simply screams John Sheppard to me. Given my compulsive doubts about who well I write characters, the fact that he seems to 'in' character, even to me, is an added bonus.
2. Family Ties Gilmore Girls. I don't think that there is enough Pre-Gilmore Girls fic out there, and what is out there mainly deals with Lorelai arriving at The Independence Inn. I love it because I think it shows a side of Luke that is never seen. I also love how Rory, a kid, is the one who manages to earn his trust, given how notoriously anti-kid Luke was in the beginning of the series.
3. Letters Harry Potter. I love this fic because I think it carries a real understated simplicity about a serious situation. I also love that it's Hermione's mother's perspective on Hermione and Harry's relationship as well as the state of the wizarding world, two things that she is VERY much in the dark about.
4. Forgive Me Father, For I Have Sinned Stagate: SG1. I had read a couple of other Pre-SG1 Sam fics, but they always dealt with Jonas. So, I went back further and took a look at Sam dealing with the fact that she took her first life and it didn't matter that it was during the Gulf War. I love the idea of her struggling to justify using religion to make her fell less guilty about killing.
5. Winter Star Trek: Voyager. This was my first REAL OFFICIAL fandom and we had a HUGE falling out at some point but I stumbled back into it a couple of years ago. I love the simplicity of this fic, the interaction between Janeway and Chakotay and how naturally they seem to come together in the end.
And, OMG! There are SO many other fics I've written that I just LOVE!!! SO, I present to you some bonus love:
6. Fallen From Grace Star Trek: Enterprise. A dark AU of the Xindi wars. I love how extreme I can make the characters and the fact that all their actions are believable given the circumstances they find themselves in. Besides, who doesn't love a good apocafic?
7. Concerto for Solo Cello Star Trek: Enterprise. I love this fic because of the Hoshi back story as well as the gentle slide into a relationship between Hoshi and Trip, even though you don't really know it's them because I don't use any names. Plus, the fact that I wrote the whole thing during Chamber Music class at University makes me giggle.
8. If I'm Lucky ER. A lovely, angsty little Luka/Abby piece. It just screams Abby to me, which I love, since she's such a hard character to write well. I never get tired of reading this fic.
9. Untitled Stargate: SG-1. A little edition to Divide and Conquer that goes AGAINST the grain. Jack goes to Sam, but she turns him down, telling him that she can't deal with 2 rooms, that she doesn't know if she can deal with one. I love that Sam sacrifices her love for Jack for her love of the Air Force and the Stargate Program and that he let's her, because he gets her.
10. Drowning Stargate: SG-1. A Threads addition where she gives in and shows up on his door step, pouring out her heart to him about Pete, the wedding, the house and her feelings for Jack. I love that she goes to him begging him to change her mind instead of him going to her and begging her to change her mind.
Ugh, I could keep going, there are at least another 5 I'd like to mention, but I won't. *sigh* So much fic, so little time.
