Ya know, it just occured to me that nothing has happened to Porthos. . .
Just for you Michelle.
Porthos looked up from his pillow on the floor. He hoped against hope that dad would be coming to get him finally.
"Ah, good boy," the alien said as he saw the little dog. Porthos came over and sat, wagging his tail as he was patted on the head and given some cheese. "Why any creature would find this appealing is beyond me," the hairy man said. Porthos wagged his tail a little harder.
I've been good today! Porthos said as they went for a walk. I didn't bark and I ate all my food and a played really quiet, no banging on the wall! He was very proud of himself. Porthos had high hopes that if he was very good, they would bring him back to dad and Hoshi would take him for walks again and Trip would sneak him meat from the table.
His spirits fell a little as his new master met up with a friend who looked upon him with disdain before striking up a conversation. The little dog fell a few steps behind the Xindi Primates, allowing them to talk. He took a few moments to study the walls around him. They weren't like they were on Enterprise. They weren't as predictable, nothing in the door ways for him to jump over, to many straight lines and not enough curves.
It was boring here, the walks were to short and to top it all off, there was no ball int he cargo bay to play with.
There was, however, an abundance of cheese and meat, just for him.
"Come Porthos, let's go home," his master said. Porthos stopped and furrowed his brow for a moment.
Where'd the other one go? he asked as he looked around for a moment. He quickly realized that he had fallen behind and broke out in a run, careful not to get to far ahead.
"Good boy." He was told as he was again patted on the head as they entered their quarters. Porthos was invited up onto the bed and he accepted, taking a spot near the window and settling himself down to look out of it. Maybe he'd see dad's ship and they'd take him home.
